About

Hello! I am a PhD candidate in the political science department at The Graduate Center, CUNY.

My dissertation project focuses on the tradition of “urban revanchism” in America during the 20th century. Drawing on different case studies from America’s urban political history, I construct a critical genealogy of urban citizenship, democracy, and the popularity of reactionary politics to understand our political moment.

My research intersects political theory and American politics while also drawing on historical studies, urban studies, and historical methods to address questions of democracy, representation, federalism, authority, and the politics of race and class.

A New Yorker since birth, my theoretical inquires often arise from the politics of cities. Outside of my dissertation project, I research and have written about democratic theory, critical theory (especially the Frankfurt School), psychoanalysis, Marxian political thought, and American political thought.
